Christmas Morning

Packing up Christmas was a pain but turned out just fine. This photo shows where we set up, Jamie and Jed, Jamie and Kirk, Eric and I, Mindi and Dave, and my Parents all had our Christmases in the big family room so it was quite the sight to see...presents everywhere!

EMMA really liked her music box that was filled with jewelry.

ISAAC loved the rock polisher, he even got a book all about rocks and minerals to go with it.

GABE was super excited about his Ipod! The boys both loved the Nerf dart tag they got to share.

Our little babies slept in so we didn't open their presents until later that morning, so the adults got to go next.

ERIC was thrilled and surprised by his IPhone. I was really happy about my new black skirt and black boots. (even though there are no photos to document it, this photo of the babies and me was all we ended up with.)
When Elijah and Meg finally woke up they were more interested in breakfast than presents so after they were fed they finally got down to business

ELIJAH Loved both his toys, the dump truck was a huge hit and the little radio kept him entertained the whole car trip home.

MEG didn't know quite what to think but she still had a good time!

Everyone who lived nearby had their Christmases at home then made there way to Grandmas when they finished up for more gifts from Grandma and Grandpa.

The kids had quite the stash this year!!

The boys also loved the marble maze from our other Grandma and Grandpa. They had a ton of fun putting it together and even more fun watching the marbles go through it.

What a great Christmas!!

PS--all these pics were taken in the PJ's Grandma and Granpa Gave them, Here are the PJ's from Eric and Me:

Kids Pics by Jacki

My sister is a great photographer and took some real quick photos of my kids for me. I got there late so we were running out of daylight, but she still managed to get at least one good shot of each of my kids. The one of them together was a bust because my little Elijah was crying in every shot.

Jacki made this photocard for me on photoshop...She is so talented and creative! Thanks again Jacki!! I love it! I was trying to get one photo of all the kids and just get a photocard from a store or something, but since the group shots didn't turn out (because of one child that shall remain nameless) I asked Jacki if she could throw something together.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Workin' out

We thought this was pretty funny...Elijah was trying to work out with us. Such a cutie.
I usually end up having to hold Meg toward the end if she is awake.

Star Wars Halloween

This was taken after school right before the trunk or treat, I think Isaac's face paint held up nicely.

Star Wars Family
We got to celebrate Halloween for a full 2 days (Yeah). The kids didn't have school on Friday so they wore their costumes to school on Thursday. Then there was a Trunk or Treat at the school Thursday evening, followed by our ward party. The older kids basically wore their costumes all day. Then of course Friday was the real Halloween...the kids loved the extended celebration this year which of course meant more candy!!
Clone Gabe
Gabe was really excited about his costume and wanted to wear it as much as I would let him. He looked great. It was fun to have him so excited about his costume.

Darth Isaac
Isaac looked AWESOME. Luckily Eric didn't have a patient until 9am so he was home in the morning and able to do Isaac's face paint. Isaac doesn't know how lucky he was...it would have been a much simpler version and not nearly as cool.
Elijah didn't know quite what to think the new look.
Pad-Emma a.k.a Padme

She was a cute little Padme, or as Emma likes to pronounce it pad-eh-may. She really liked how her hair turned out.

Yoda-bug

Cute he is!

Just about the cutest kid in the cutest costume ever!

Princess Leia

Beautiful Girl!

Elijah needed a little encouragement to wear his Yoda ears; hence the sucker.

We had to wash Isaac's face about 10 times to get all the face paint off. For the real Halloween he opted to wear the mask. Which was a lot easier, but masks were not allowed at school on thursday.

Brothers and Sisters

Here are just a few pictures I thought were pretty funny. Our boys sometimes take awhile to fall asleep because they talk and look at books and magazines...Eric went upstairs to check on them and this is how they happen to fall asleep this particular night.
They are very good friends and I am glad they get along so well together. What great kids I have!

Gabe and Isaac are playing the Wii here...and Elijah thinks he is too. He likes to grab the extra remote and look intently at the screen like he is really into his game.

He just wants to be one of the boys.
(his pants got all muddy so we just took them off, he really doesn't walk around without pants that often, I promise)

Emma and Meg

Emma is loving that she finally has a sister. Lately we have been giving Meg a bottle of formula at night, with the hope that it would help her sleep a little better at night...

The Many Adventures of Elijah the Bug

Elijah is a super happy kid. I think his sole purpose in our family is to make everyone happy. Elijah has many nicknames including (but not limited to) "the bug", chub-a-bubba, chubs, Elijah-bug, lijah-bug, Lij (pronounced Lije) bugs-a-boo, bubby, bubba...

Elijah is the funnest, cutest, most easy goin', little guy ever. ( I am shamefully biased) We just adore him! Elijah has not been the quickest kid at speaking (or any other milestone for that matter), but he is starting to say more words everyday. His very first word was Isaac. He didn't just say Isaac, he yelled "ISAAA" Hmmm...I wonder where he got that from? His word for blanket used to sound just like buddy but now it sounds like "badey". He says Mom, Dad, car, sippy and "te to" for "thank you", there are probably a few more that I can't think of right now. He is starting to repeat words he hears alot more also, they are not really part of his vocabulary yet but I'm sure they will be soon. Even though he doesn't speak alot in the traditional sense, he has always been very good at communicating, which I think has contributed to his lack of motivation for speaking.

Here is a little more about our "Bug"---

Likes:
He loves Meg. and as soon as he hears her crying from the monitor after her nap he immediately sets off to go and rescue her. He is so gentle with her and loves to give her hugs. He tries to make her happy by giving her her pacifier, or toys. Sometimes he does make her happy, sometimes...not so much.
Elijah was so funny when I took these photos, I put Meg leaning up against him and was wondering how he would feel about that...he loved feeling like he was holding her! I tried to move her and he did his little "uh,uh" and pat his legs, basically saying--put her back.

He loves Going to Bed He is about the easiest kid ever to put to bed. Today for instance, after lunch he wanted to get down but I wasn't quite finished eating. So I thought I would just get him down so he could go talk to Meg. But he grabbed his sippy cup (of water) and I asked if he wanted to go to bed and so he started heading off to his room laughing with anticipation the whole way. It was so funny. He threw in his sippy cup and I put him in his bed with his blanket and he was happy as a clam. Night time is just as fun and easy.

He loves his Blanket. He has been attached to it since he was a baby and still takes it were ever he goes. I have to distract him and have one of the kids hide it if I want to leave the house without it.

He loves his Daddy. As soon as Eric gets home Elijah wants to be with him. Eric goes to change...Elijah is right behind him, Eric goes to the kitchen...Elijah is right behind him, Eric goes to the bathroom...you get the idea. Sometimes Eric would just walk randomly all over the house to see if Elijah would follow. Sure enough, Elijah was always right behind him. They love to wrestle and rough house and it is so fun to see how much Elijah loves his Dad.

Elijah LOVES his shoes. Funny I know, but he loves them. Before we found a pair of shoes he liked he was totally anti-shoe. He would cry every time I put them on. I was getting a little desperate and then I went to the store and they had the cutest shoes ever. They have a really soft sole, they are more like slippers with a two soft rubber inserts. Anyway, I put them on him and he actually tolerated it. I left his shoes on all day in an effort to get him used to the idea of wearing shoes. After I laid him down for his nap I heard him start crying and of course I went to check on him and he was upset because one of his new shoes had fallen off. I thought it was pretty cute. Ever since we found the right pair of shoes he never wants them off. I take them off to change his diaper as soon as I put his pants back on he immediately sits right down and says "soo" for shoe. I am wondering if he is going to be okay with some real shoes soon because the ones he has now are needing to go to the dumpster or maybe I should bronze them? Just kidding!
These are his beloved shoes that have now been retired. They had a good run!
Luckily we have found a new pair of soft-soled shoes, but they are not made for serious walkers so they are wearing out pretty quickly.
Dislikes:
He doesn't have many, but I would have to say he doesn't like being treated like a toy. Somtimes the kids pick him up just for fun, not such a big fan.
He doesn't like it when Eric and I leave on our weekly date. Thankfully he gets over that pretty quickly.
Not a big fan of Nursery. He is not crying the majority of the time anymore, but I still think it is one of his least favorite parts of the week.

I love this little guy!
